Bottomless Pits

So the girls came home and stayed a week over the holidays. We enjoyed having the house full of laughter again....and oh, yes the occasional sister arguments!! I forgot how much those stressed me out. John & I stayed out of it for fear it would make us argue. But, in the end they always make up and act like it never happened. I have 4 sisters so I know all about arguing with your sister.

I also couldn't believe how much these two tiny girls were eating! Seriously! It seemed like every time I turned around they were in the kitchen again! At least it wasn't 'bad' food they ate....it was mostly healthy. I don't recall them eating this much when they lived at home. Maybe they were stocking up for when they go back to college life?! Maybe it was just holiday eating!

Over a one week period we went through.....
4 bags tortilla chips
1 jar jalapenos
3 jars salsa....and one that Beth gave them so thats 4.
3 avocados
16 0z. sour cream
2 cans refried beans
2 big blocks cheddar cheese (can you tell they like chips & dips...nachos)
4 boxes cereal
2 gallons of milk
apples & oranges & bananas
and so. much. more!

Meg & Tori Christmas day 1992.
Meg & Tori Christmas Day 2008
I'm just happy that they came home.....that we shared memories, we laughed together we even cried together. We saw old friends and held new babies.

p.s. I re-stocked my fridge and cabinets yesterday.....Tori came home last night around 7 for the weekend and Meg is coming in this afternoon for a few hours. LOVE IT!!!!!

Hello SITSta! I love the pics side by side--and I love that they're still arguing (see Tori's comment). :) I have 3 girls, I'm prepping for a lifetime of love, fights, quarreling, sharing, and siterhood. ACK!

what a sweet picture of them from their little girl days! I know what you mean about the food. I'm ready to pitch all of this and get back my WW kind of food. I've got to get the rest of poundage off this ol body! Isn't it just fun having them home though.

You are so lucky to have them so close by! They look great and so happy.
When my girls fight it stresses me out too. Luckily they don´t tell me everything anymore...

Great pic of when they were little! I love how happy kids get over the simple things, like sun glasses and a baby doll.

Have a great time with your girls & hubby this weekend!

I am laughing at Tori's comment...it continues..

I love the picture with them holding the cabbage patch dolls and matching heart glasses.

It's good to know that the bickering stresses you out...and that you actually forgot about that fact when it wasn't going on! Something for me to look forward too!

I'm so glad you had such a good time home with your girls. Things do change Betty, but sometimes that change is into wonderful beautiful things. Just think. Ten years from now Christmas will probably be you and John juggeling grandbabies and your house overflowing..

I love it that you have such an incredibly close relationship with your girls, even though they're grown. How wonderful that must be! My prayer is that once my girls are off on their own, we'll still be just as close as we are now and they'll still want to come "home" every chance they get. Your pics of them are too cute!

and comin' back for more. Lucky for you all they are close by. I sure don't want Danielle going far when she is off to college. She said she wants to stay close to home too. That counts for something when they don't want to get as far away as they can, some do ya know.

I love the picture with the Cabbage Patch Dolls. I remember when Heather was little and wanted one and you couldn't get your hands on one. She got one though and a boy one too. Remember those. With their correct parts. lol

And my sister and I do the same thing. Fight, and forget. All. the. time. She is my best friend and I love her unconditionally. Im sure your girls feel the same way. Most of the time ;)

Loved the picture of them when they were little with their curly hair and sunglasses.
My sister is 40 and I'm 43 (tomorrow) we can't get together without arguing about something. So It will probably continue for lots of years. hahaha.

Sounds like a good time, your girls are beautiful. Refreshing too to know that they still argue occasionally and make up just as quickly. Hopefully one day my girls will be total BFFs, for now I just have to keep them from strangling each other. ;-) BTW that is ALOT of salsa for one week. lol.

Sounds like my house!!! We go through Mexican food products the fastest! I have to shop at Costco for my refried beans, shredded cheese, etc. It's crazy!

I'm glad they're home so often! I hope my boys are like that when they get older!!! You're girls are beautiful, they almost look like twins! How far apart are they in age?

LOL it stresses me when the girls fight and if I say something they are like but mom we're bonding (I was sure they wanted to kill each other).
I'm glad you go to have some time with them, and I love the pics.

I NEVER fought with my sisters.

Just don't tell Michelle I said that :)

And yes I did have two Cabbage Patch Kids dolls...I was spoiled rotten like that. Those were the days, for sure!

Glad you had a great time with your beautiful girls. They're so lucky to have such a great family!

Didn't you just love the days when you could eat anything and your metabolism just kicked into gear and no weight was gained. Yeah. Then my kids came along!
I'm so glad you have got to spend so much time with your girls!

I love the pics! My two girls are young and fight now and I try my best every day to stop that from happening. I hope they grow up to be as close as my sister and I are!

Happy New Year!

Thank goodness my sister and I only fight online now!! lol

It is my father that we fight with when we have get together's. My mom just tunes him out but we can't always. That is why I love to say things on my blog to rile my father up, cause I'm not around him.

He has his own blog now, hope he isn't following my comments;)
