#1 Quilt Top

Quilt top #1 is finished. Thanks to my wonderful husband for helping.

I showed John how to sew the squares together.

He hasn't sewn since he got out of the military 12 years ago. He use to sew all his patches on his uniforms. I think he enjoys sewing these quilts with me. I welcome all his help. And the girls are gonna love the fact that daddy sewed some.

Also thanks to Reeses....tehehe... he is always right by me when I'm sewing.

When not in my lap he is behind me sitting cozy in the chair.

or on the table

Can you tell he is our baby?!

Here is the quilt top all pressed out. I have to buy the fabric for the quilt back. I'm contemplating on a dark or light brown. I hope to have a quilt sandwich by the weekend. For now, on to quilt #2.

I think that is the best part of the gift...is that you and John (and even Reese) helped to make it. Your girls are going to cherise them their whole life!

That is absolutely gorgeous! I love all the colors, it is so cheery! I thought of you today while I was in JoAnn's fabrics. I was searching for a beginners quilting book and looking at all the jelly-rolls and other fabric selections and I realized I'm as lost as a dog in high weeds. I'm determined though, come January this is one of my resolutions... learn to quilt!

It's looking beautiful!
By the way, I thought of you the other day. We were in Walgreens and they have dog beds that are candy-themed, and they had a Reeses one!
