I woke up yesterday morning at 5:30 am....5:30 on the second day of my summer vacation!
I was excited in a way 'cause I was able to sit and relax in front of my computer with coffee in my hand and I was able to read blogs without worrying about having to leave for work!
After I got caught up with you all I decided to go in the craft room to see what I could make.
Awhile back I had sewn some squares together to start a quilt. I decided to rip out what I had sewn and make a patchwork skirt instead of a quilt!!
I didn't have a pattern....I didn't have a plan....I just dove right in and started sewing.
It came out really cute!! It fits really good!!! I sewed the seams on the outside of the skirt and it'll fray some once washed...that was my intent. I bought Tori a skirt last year that is a lot like this one...I had always told her I was going to make one. I finally did it!I'm going to go shopping for some material this week and make another one. This time I will be more careful where I place the squares to sew. I didn't lay them in a good pattern.. But hey for a spontaneous, no pattern, no plan, skirt....I think it came out pretty darn cute!
I love summer!!! I get very creative in the summertime!! I have lots of time to sew! My sewing machine has missed me!
