I like it hot hot hot

I have really been feeling crappy this week. The ragweed is kicking my butt!!!! I am all stuffy, sneezing all the time, itchy eyes , headache etc...etc...etc....I can't smell anything or taste anything! I have to chew my food with my mouth open just so I can breathe! ARG!!!!
Ok I feel better now that I've vented.

I like all my food spicy! The hotter the better. So when I saw these crackers in the teachers lounge last year I just had to get the recipe. They are SO good!! Of course if you don't like things hot, you can cut back on the spice. So I made these the other day and thought I'd share with all of you.

SPICY SALTINE CRACKERS
1 box saltine crackers
1 cup canola oil
1 pkg. hidden valley ranch dressing mix
2 tsp. red pepper flakes

Open all 4 packages of crackers and dump them in a gallon size baggie.
Mix oil and ranch mix together. Add red pepper flakes.
Pour this on top of crackers. Shake well. Turn baggie over every 30 minutes.
I let them marinate like this over night.

I think next week I'm going to make Heather's Chili and serve these crackers with it. YUM!

Oh and the dryer hose pumpkin directions. It has been 14 years since she made that. But, all you do is buy a dryer hose. Cut enough of it to form a nice circle. Hot glue it together. Paint it orange. Make a stem out of construction paper. Add raffia and Viola! A Pumpkin!!!

Oh you poor thing! My husband has been having a hayfever attack all week. The boys are on zytec, and the baby has a double ear infection. I think it is the changing of the weather! Hang in there and soon the chill will take over and hopefully move us out of this allergy weather!
Yes Heather's soup is really really good. I have made it twice now. Mine turned out thicker than hers and mine was white. It tastes alot like Max and Erma's chicken tortilla soup, so my kids LOVE it.
Thanks for the directions on the the pumpkin!
Hope you feel better soon!

Allergies suck! My oldest son and I have 'em the worst! I hope you clear up soon!!

I'm such a wimp when it comes to spicy & hot stuff. My dad believes the hotter & sweatier he can get while eating, the better. LOL

The crackers to look yum though!

Oooh! Those sound yummy. But with my ulcers I think I'll try the same recipe w/o the red pepper for now & make them hot & spicy in a few months.

Are you better today? Loved the cracker recipe, maybe the chillis will help clear things up...

Thanks for coming over on BATW. What an outpouring of bloggy love I got today. I am so glad to hear from women like you that have made it. 20 years married and still in love, darling gilrs grown and off living their lives. A true success story and one that I am hoping I can write someday.

Those crackers look scrumptious! I'm not big on spice, but I'm sure they'd still be great if I cut back on the spice. Yumm.
