Little bunny foo-foo,
hopping through the forest

and bopping them on the head.

We have 3 bunny rabbits that come out from the woods behind us to visit everyday. Usually first thing in the morning and after dark. We throw out the scraps from the veggies...like the ends of celery, carrots, the peeling of cucumbers and they sit in the yard and munch on it.
John & I have named them.....Foo Foo, Fee Fee and Peter. Yeah, we are dorks like that.
This little guy in the photo above was brave and ventured closer to the house than usual. So I grabbed my camera so I could get a few pictures.
Foo Foo decided he didn't like the camera so he hopped away back into the forest.
I was talking to Kevin, my next door neighbor, 2 weeks ago. He asked if we had any rabbit nest in our yard?! I told him I didn't know but we do have 3 rabbits that always come out. He took me to his front lawn and showed me a nest with 2 baby bunnies in it. He had another one with 3 babies and those were so tiny their eyes weren't open yet and they didn't have much fur.
I did not know that the mother rabbit digs a shallow hole and pulls fur from her body to cover her babies and keep them warm. She does not sit on the nest constantly because that would signal birds and animals as to were the babies were living. She nurses them 2-3 times a day by sitting on top of the nest and the babies push through the hair and twigs to reach her nipples. Usually before dawn and after dark.
Here is one of the babies from Kevin's yard. He got it out to show the girls and they took pictures of this sweet baby. It is almost big enough to leave the nest.
John and I walked our yard to see if we could find any nest. We didn't find any. I'm thankful for that because so many baby bunnies get killed because of the lawn mower.
So we will continue to feed our furry friends and enjoy watching them hop in and out of their forest! If only we could train them to kill the moles that tear up the yard!

I bet you two got a good laugh out of naming the bunnies! LOL
SO cute!
They are so cute! That's nice that you feed them...then they don't have to eat your plants.
Not a lot in this world cuter than a baby bunny!
How fun is that. What cuties. That baby is adorable. Kind of looks like a squirrel at first. Glad its a bunny instead.

We have bunnies to be our relationship is more antaginistic.
Those bunnies are adorable!
We have one bunny, but he/she keeps eating our strawberries, and I don't really like to share.
I could send Autumn over to your house; she's been leaving moles on our back patio every morning, earning her keep and redeeming herself from peeing on my kitchen counter...
Interested?
Aww...nothing sweeter than little fur babies!
Baby bunnies are some of the cutiest darn babies around, I swear.
So glad you found out about them before your lawnmower did!
Oh, it's SO cute! Now I bet you'll be looking for nests all the time.
They are so cute! I don't think I've ever seen a baby bunny before - just adorable.
We had bunnies this spring. Now they have been replaced under our deck by a mama cat and 6 kittens. The cat is a stray and the kittens are really wild. We are trying to figure out how we are going to get them out without tearing the deck apart. My little ones sure think it is great though.
I'm BACK to tell you this post gave me nightmares! (well, in my case, they're day-mares.) Anyway, yesterday I dreamed of tiny KITTENS all over the yard, getting ran over and stepped on. I was running around trying to save them all! It was awful and when I woke up I thought of your post! LOL
And the Mama Bunny doesn't mind the Humans interrupting her routine? Such a cute story! We have bunnies, too. But they eat the veggies growing in my garden, which makes me sad...Stopping by from SITS. Happy TGIF!
When I was in college, my roommates and I found some wild bunny babies and "adopted" them. We convinced ourselves they were abandoned. Anyway, they lived with us all year, and then with one of my roommate's nieces for a few years after that. They seemed pretty happy to be with us even though they were wild. Stopped by to say thanks for leaving comments yesterday on my big day. Hope to see you back soon:)
Bunnies are so cute until they become rabbits who eat your tomatoes! I so love Beatrix Potter! Have a blessed day!
I am just visiting....Thank you for making me smile. The bunnies are so sweet. Thank you for letting me visit. I am stopping by from SITS.
Awwwwwww!!! We totally name everything that comes into our yard too.
