Week in Review

So it's been exactly 1 week since I last posted. I don't think I've ever gone that long. But it was a very busy & long week! I was in bed by 8:30 almost every night.
Saturday- John took off work and we spent the day together. We went and had breakfast at our favorite diner. Went antiquing where I found my next piece of furniture I really want but don't need. We went to Michelle & Brandon's wedding. It was beautiful.
Can you believe I forgot to get a picture of John & I together. I was pissed 'cause he had on a green dress shirt that matched my scarf. It would have been a great photo. We went to see the movie "He's just not that into you". It was hilarious. We really liked it. This lady brought her 4 year old with her. The little girl was sitting one seat over from John. At one point in the movie someone called someone a Douche Bag, the audience laughed.....then silence....and that little girl said, "Mommy, whats a douche bag?" OMG....we all laughed again. It was so funny!

Sunday- John went to work and I went to church. We were meeting friends to go eat Italian when John got off work. In the meantime I was worried about Tori driving home from Missouri so I "busy baked". I tried out a new recipe. Sweet Potato & Cheddar Cheese Cookies. Holy Moly guys....you need to try these. They are amazing. I found them one day looking at food blogs...I came across Vanilla Sugar and love her pictures and recipes. Her blog is amazing! Go there for the recipe. You won't be disappointed!
Sweet Potato & Cheddar Cheese Cookies

Monday- After work I drove to the girls house and picked up my dog, Reeses. Meg was at work. Tori was home and offered to cook me dinner but I was afraid to stay to long since I had another 55 minute drive ahead of me and I was already sleepy. So I declined and made it home at 7:30.

Tuesday-I put a roast in the crock pot before I left for work. Tori came in for dinner. After she left John & I caught up on Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice.

Wednesday
- I went to see the doctor because I have been having pain in my neck & hands. Also, my headaches have been more severe the past 2 weeks. I thought it was stress from my job situation. But the pain in hands got worse. Long story short I had a car accident back in 2001....it messed me up pretty good....off work 5 months, messed up my neck and back. I have degenerative disc disease. I was told back then that eventually I will have to have surgery. I'm going to see my neurologist March 16th to have a nuero-conductor test done. To see what nerve is damaged and to see if it is for sure my neck or maybe carpel tunnel. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer to help relax my shoulders to ease the pain. Of course I can't take it until after I get off the bus. I did take one this night, met John at the Mexican restaurant, then went to a skating party. I didn't last long in there. By 7:15 we had to leave. I was sleepy and the carpet was tripping me out. Psychedelic!

Thursday
- Date night. We ate a Crossroads...a true southern buffet restaurant. Came home and I watched LOST since I feel asleep the night before trying to watch it. OMG...it was the best one yet!!!! I had a package waiting for me on the porch. It was the giveaway I won from Betty in Paraguay. How exciting!! The wooded utensils were made from wood from the Paraguay Forest. I love the duck at the handle. This colorful doily is absolutely beautiful and yes, Betty I think I will put that in my black bathroom. Thank you, Thank you, Betty!!! You made my week! This package couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks for cheering me up!!! I love every thing. Oh, and I will e-mail you if I need a recipe translated from the calendar.

Friday- I updated my status on Facebook while I visited a few blogs. I was fighting sleep by 7:30. I gave in and went to bed.

Each day was a little easier than the previous. I'm getting use to my schedule. I hope to be back on my old routine next week. The one where I actually stay up and not fall asleep on my poor husband.

Today is my cleaning day. Every other Saturday I do all my heavy cleaning. I'm going to visit blogs off & on through out the day as well. I have had major withdrawals this week...I feel like I missed out on a huge party or something.

I think before I start cleaning I'm going to go wake up John and take him out to breakfast before he has to go to work.

Bit & Pieces

I started my new bus route on Thursday. It isn't a hard route at all. It's just long! I have to be at the bus pound by 6:10 am to do my pre-trip and warm up bus. (it use to be 6:55) SUCKS! So that means I have been waking up at 4 am. I have to leave the house by 5:45.
4 am!!!! It's not really that bad though....waking up that early. I am a morning person. But, waking up 45 minutes earlier than usual does something to ones body. After being active at the middle school all day (I do a lot of walking) I get real tired in the late afternoon. Probably because I am sitting....and the bus is real warm. By around 3:30 pm I feel like this Polar Bear.
From the time I start my bus run, work at the school, finish afternoon run...I have put in a 10 hour day!!!! It hit me like a ton of bricks last night! John was at work so I didn't have anyone to converse with. Exhaustion. Seriously. Yawning. Body feeling limp. Can't keep your eyelids open for nothing!!!
This was me last night by 7 pm. On the couch. On a Friday. I finally got up and got in the bed at 10. My body will adjust though. It usually takes 2 weeks for me to get use to a routine. It can't come fast enough!

Didn't get a family picture of our Family dinner date this week. Forgot the camera. Meg couldn't come because she started a new waitressing job.
Check Spelling
Tori had over 40 people show up at her 1st Yoga class!! That is an insane amount!!! They are probably going to have to put a 25 limit on it cause that's a big class. Sarah and Nicole said she did AWESOME!!!! I did want to go and support her but I knew it would make her nervous! Plus, it's an hour drive!!

Tori drove to Missouri yesterday by herself!!! First time alone on a road trip like that. It was really hard for John and I to allow it.(really we couldn't have stopped her) We wanted so bad to say....NO, you are still to young!!! But, instead we supported her and daddy checked out the car THOROUGHLY and mapped out the way. Momma made her a goody bag of homemade Granola to munch on. She called one of us just about every hour and gave us an update of where she was. She arrived safely last night around 6 pm. John & I finally breathed. Now, come Sunday I'll be a nervous wreck again until she arrives safely at home!!!

John took the day off from work today. One of our closest friends, Michelle is getting married this afternoon. So we are getting to spend an entire Saturday TOGETHER all dressed up!!! We are going to breakfast, Kohls & Belks to shop for clothes, the Wedding and we might even go see a movie afterwards. John has been wanting to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic". Yes, I said John has been wanting to see it. Yea, Isla Fisher is eye candy but he loved her in Wedding Crashers and she is so funny!!!

I feel like a bad bloggy friend. I haven't been around to everyones blogs to read. I'm going to try to play catch-up on Monday night.

Becky~ have a BLAST in Cancun!!! I'll be thinking of all the fun you are having with Mike and I'll try not to be jealous!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Bag Lady

April over @ Straight from the Heart & Aubrey over @ The Fam Five both tagged me in "The Bag Lady"
The rules:

1) Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying at this moment. No going up to your closet to pull out that cute one you use for special occasions. I want to see what you carried today or the last time you left the house.

2)I want to know how much it cost. This is not to judge. It is purely for entertainment. So spill it. If there is a story that goes along with how you obtained it, I'd love to hear it!

3)Tag some peeps then link back here so people know why the heck you're showing all your bag business!

Drum roll please.......
This bag was a gift from my oldest daughter, Meg. She was shopping around Goodwill last week and thought of me when she came across it. She paid $3.00 for it. It's from Old Navy.

What's inside.......
My girls always tell me I carry way to much! I have my teal wallet that I Love! My pink make-up bag with about 8 lipsticks...do I really need to carry around 8? Yeah, I do. My eye glasses (I lost the case for them) sunglasses in the black case. Bus and classroom keys....Valentine sucker from this adorable 6th grader named, Brian(it's still in purse) hand sanitizer A MUST....BC Powder A MUST...Rolaids, chapstick and on and on. My little composition notebook that holds the names of all the people I pray for. It gets added to daily. Some of you are in there!!

So there you have it. Doing this post was like Bag therapy....I realized my girls were right!! I need to condense.

Now believe it or not....I, me, yes that's right....I am going to follow the rules!!! I tag.....

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind.
*Tori doing the Dance Pose in her bedroom*
A beginner’s yoga class will be held at the Faulkner County Library. The class will meet once a week, every Wednesday from 7-8pm beginning February 18th. The instructor will be experienced yogi Tori Houston. The class is on going, free and open to the public. No sign up is required. Yoga mats and blocks provided to the first 20 people who show up. Arrive by 6:55pm. Bring your mat if you have one. Wednesday night yoga will meet at the bottom of the library.
The library will still have on-going Tuesday night yoga as well from 7 to 8pm with experienced yoga instructor Nicole Hare. Come to one or the other or both!

Above are the exact words from the library that are on the facebook group to attend this class. As of now there are 33 confirmed people that are attending Tori's class. How exciting for her!! This job actually found Tori....she had emailed the girl (Sarah) at the library to see what time the classes started. They got to talking and she asked Tori how long she had been doing Yoga. Tori told her 3 years. She offered Tori a job every Wednesday with pay! Tori called me to ask what I thought; I of course told her to take it!! So here she is 1 month later getting ready to teach her first class.

Her boyfriend, Nick made her a mix CD for the class. The other girl doesn't use music. She has practiced her routine every morning making sure to keep it at a level of intensity that every one will feel comfortable with.

Tori~ I'm proud of you! I'm so happy you have a job that you love!! Call me after your class...I want to hear all about it!! I love you, baby bird...beaucoup!

Tori @ your lady of the earth tagged me in "6th folder, 6th photo. Basically,"Open the 6th picture folder on your computer, open the 6th photo and blog it. Write something about it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same."

Ok I have to admit...I am on my laptop and the 6th folder was of Tori's senior year....her photos of her friends at the lake. So I scrolled down and found photos of us in Destin last summer. The 6th one was this one of Meg, John & Tori.
They are acting like goof balls as usual. We had so much fun that week in Florida. We stayed in a house instead of a condo. It was nice to have the space and privacy....but we didn't have access to a pool. The jelly fish were so bad that week and we couldn't swim in the ocean. So we acted like we were staying in one of the condos and snuck into the pool. Meg and I even acted stupid and told these kids we forgot the code to the gate to get in, they were like it's 65041. Meg said, Mom, duh...you kept saying it was 65241. hahaha we laughed about that all week. We used that code and laid out by that pool all week.

So as usual I don't follow rules....most of you know this by now. So I tag all of you and give these awards to all of you. Don't hate me 'cause I don't follow rules. Love me for who I am! :)

Powder room & BBS

Back in October, John & I were at Hobby Lobby browsing around. He found these 3 very bright flower plaques. I guess you would call them plaques; they are like heavy wood. Anyway, he said, "what do you think about these going in the powder room". I told him I thought it was a great idea...it would brighten up the bathroom. John painted that bathroom black (including the ceiling) but left the crown molding white 6 years ago. We have black and white photos in there. Here is a plaque we bought at Mardel about 3 years ago to go above the toilet.

See, it's pretty but we needed something to kinda cheer the room up. This is after all the bathroom all the guest use.

So that's why we bought the plaques. The plaques that went from the kitchen table to be hung in October. To the dining room table in November. He went to hang them in December but said he would have to do some touch up painting first...so they went back on the table. I finally put them in our room on the floor by my jewelry box. They sat there for awhile. Got tired of picking them up to vacuum....so I put them under the wardrobe in our room. Well, here it is February and I moved them again yesterday to vacuum. That was IT!!!

I don't ever hang anything in the house because John is very meticulous about hanging pictures. He gets the level, measuring tape, pencil etc... out and it's all perfect. Me I usually just eyeball it and slap it on there. But, I am so tired of these plaques not being on the wall they were intended to be on.

So I got out the measuring tape, level and pencil and I was precise!! I hung those plaques myself!!
I think they cheer up this bathroom. My favorite is the purple one.

Honey~ you probably forgot that these were even in the house. They look good, huh?!

On to the BBS. It's the 15th of the month so that means time to pick a new scripture. I have only gotten the 1st one fully memorized. But, I'm not giving up on the others.

James 1:20 (NIV)
"for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires".

When our egos are bruised or hurt we tend to turn towards anger. When you feel as if your not being heard or that your opinion doesn't count we turn to anger. It's OK to be angry at times as long as you don't let it get the best of you. Selfish anger never helps anybody.

This has been a verse I have thought about a lot, lately. I was very angry about my job situation. So I decided I needed to memorize this verse and if/when I am ever in a situation that makes me angry I can just repeat this verse.

Not in limbo anymore

Late Tuesday evening I received a phone call from my friend, Ann whom also is my Union Rep. She told me all the drivers got their letters stating they will be getting their bus routes back for sure!! Confused, read here.

So Wednesday all 4 Supervisors, the Director of Transportation and several others had a meeting that lasted well over 5 hours to discuss how to handle all this mess.

Long story short. I was told to call my supervisor Thursday morning. So after homeroom was over I took a deep breath and called her. This is what she said.

Brad (director of Transportation) said you have 1 of 2 choices to make.

A) Choose an open route and bid on it (there are only regular routes open...I've been doing special needs for 18 years...so a regular route scares the crap outta me!)

B) Change from a regular driver to a sub driver and take over route 532 (special needs) for the remainder of the year. BUT, the start of 09/10 school year I will still be a sub driver and they can put me on ANY route they want...including regular 88 passengers. ugh!

So I had some questions...What routes were open that go to the middle school I work at and what towns do they go to? All but 1 had an elementary run....but I could swing them and still work at the school...the one that is middle school only happens to be the worse route in the district!!! We are talking fights and police escorts all. the. time. Will I still have my seniority if I switch to sub? YES! Keep all benefits? YES!

Hmmm...lots to think and pray about. So I called John and talked if over with him. We both prayed about it.

I decided to switch to a sub driver and take the special needs route 532. The only suck-y thing is it has an elementary so I have to leave the school early to do that run.

Upside though....I told John this was God's way of saying, "see things work out...trust me".....I get $10 a day more being a sub driver. HEY!!!!!!!!!

So I have peace about this whole situation now. Still not sure when the switch will happen. They are thinking in 2 weeks since SO many people are involved and payroll has so many changes to do, etc.

When I came into the house yesterday this was the first thing I saw.
John bought me my favorite Tulips, cordial cherries and Caramel wood wick candle to cheer me up! How sweet was that!!! It cheered me up instantly! He took me out to dinner at our favorite Mexican place as well.

So I'm looking at all that has happened this year with my job as a blessing. God knew it was all going to work out...I should have trusted from the beginning!! I'm happy to just have a job, period! So, now i get to keep my job at the school, & drive the bus as well!

First Date

I got this in an E-mail from my friend, Ron a few weeks back.

First Date-------------

If you didn't see this on the Tonight show, I hope you're sitting down when you read it. This is probably the funniest date story ever, first date or not!!! We have all had bad dates but this takes the cake.

Jay Leno went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date that a woman ever had.

The winner described her worst first date experience. There was absolutely no question as to why her tale took the prize!

She said it was midwinter... snowing and quite cold...and the guy had taken her skiing in the mountains outside Salt Lake City , Utah .

It was a day trip (no overnight). They were strangers, after all, and truly had never met before. The outing was fun but relatively uneventful until they were headed home late that afternoon.

They were driving back down the mountain, when she gradually began to realize that she should not have had that extra latte.

They were about an hour away from anywhere with a rest room and in the middle of nowhere!

Her companion suggested she try to hold it, which she did for a while.

Unfortunately, because of the heavy snow and slow going, there came a point where she told him that he had better stop and let her go beside the road, or it would be the front seat of his car.

They stopped and she quickly crawled out beside the car, yanked her pants down and started.

In the deep snow she didn't have good footing, so she let her butt rest against the rear fender to steady herself.

Her companion stood on the side of the car watching for traffic and indeed was a real gentleman and refrained from peeking. All she could think about was the relief she felt despite the rather embarrassing nature of the situation. Upon finishing however, she soon became aware of another sensation.

As she bent to pull up her pants, the young lady discovered her buttocks were firmly glued against the car's fender.

Thoughts of tongues frozen to poles immediately came to mind as she attempted to disengage her flesh from the icy metal. It was quickly apparent that she had a brand new problem due to the extreme cold.

Horrified by her plight and yet aware of the humor of the moment, she answered her date's concerns about 'what is taking so long' with a reply that indeed, she was 'freezing her butt off' and in need of some assistance!

He came around the car as she tried to cover herself with her sweater and then, as she looked imploringly into his eyes, he burst out laughing.

She too, got the giggles and when they finally managed to compose themselves, they assessed her dilemma.

Obviously, as hysterical as the situation was, they also were faced with a real problem. Both agreed it would take something hot to free her chilly cheeks from the grip of the icy metal!

Thinking about what had gotten her into the predicament in the first place, both quickly realized that there was only one way to get her free.

So, as she looked the other way, her first-time date proceeded to unzip his pants and pee her butt off the fender. As the audience screamed in laughter, she took the Tonight Show prize hands down. Or perhaps that should be 'pants down.'

And you thought your first date was embarrassing.

Jay Leno's comment:
'This gives a whole new meaning
to being pissed off.'

Oh, and how did the first date turn out? He became her husband and was sitting next to her on the Leno show.

RELAXATION GIVEAWAY

I can't even begin to tell you all how good it feels to have the yearbook complete! I actually had a Saturday just for "me". I didn't have that nagging little voice in my head constantly thinking about what I need to do in the yearbook...what photo goes there....what should I write here....did I spell that child's name right?!

*took a deep breath* **smiled** it's over. YAY!!!

So I said I was going to do a giveaway when it was complete. When I was thinking of what to do I immediately thought of something that relaxes or de-stresses me after a long hard day.

Well, first thing that came to mind was BC Powder! I love this stuff!! It gets rid of my worse headaches in 15 minutes!!
Second was my hook and some yarn. Crocheting relaxes me so much! So I sat down and made a coaster for your coffee or tea cup out of cotton yarn that I dyed with kool-aid. It would be perfect sitting next to your computer while you blog! (cup not included)

I then thought about how much I love drinking Spiced Chai Tea. It's like comfort food in a cup. Really yummy if you use 1/2 cup almond milk in it! Mmmm...I think I'm gonna go make me a cup.
I then thought how I like to light some vanilla candles.....
and soak in the tub. My favorite body wash to use when I've had a long day is Bath & Body Works SLEEP lavender chamomile...it's part of the aromatherapy line. I am also addicted to the room spray. It just soothes and calms.

So there you go.....My Relaxation Giveaway.

To enter to win all you have to do is....Leave me a comment telling me how you relax or de-stress!!
Thanks to all of you for the words of encouragement during those stressful days!! You are all wonderful!! I'll pick a winner Sunday evening using random.org I'll post the winner on Monday. Good luck!

WE ARE DONE!!!

WE ARE DONE!!! See the green line in the photo....that has been our goal...to see green...no more orange or red or yellow....just green! To be finished with the yearbook! We did it! It's complete!

Ashley & I gave high fives and did the happy dance around the classroom!!

I hit the submit spreads button and the yearbook is on it's way to the company. 45 spreads....88 pages all together...I didn't think it would ever get finished!

I told you all I was going to do a giveaway when we finished the annual; so Saturday late afternoon I will post my giveaway!!!

I'm so excited!!!

Oh Happy Day

Meg had class yesterday and afterwards went straight to the DMV to get her "adult" license! The lady said you can come back tomorrow and it's free....Meg told her..."I'm 21 today, I want to order a drink tonight; I'll pay the $10 and get it now"!!

We went and celebrated at Mike's Place in Conway. Here is the birthday girl drinking her first drink. (legally) She ordered a White Russian. Guess what....they didn't even card her!! Bummer. She savored that drink and drank every last drop!!!

Her best friend and room-mate Brianna came to help us celebrate.
and of course sister Tori with her boyfriend, Nick.
and Grandma was there as always!! She has never missed a birthday!
We took our usual family photo. Something we do everytime all four of us are together. This is in the girls kitchen.
She wanted me to make the usual birthday cake. Yellow with chocolate butter cream frosting. I put a martini glass with olive on top. She had a heck of a time blowing out 21 sparkle candles. I didn't realize these things were trick candles as well. It was funny.

Oh, that tattoo on her back is not new. Her & Tori have matching ones. They got those about a year ago. We are going to get new tats sometime this month.

Meg is always coming home and getting into my perfume. She always goes for my favorite because well it's her favorite, too! So I told John we had to get her some for her birthday. She new almost immediately what was in the box...even before she saw the packaging.
Her she is spraying on the "sexual secret" by Victoria Secret. How much you wanna bet she'll still use mine when she comes home!!

I think she had a wonderful birthday!! I can't believe I have a 21 year old!! I didn't cry as much as I thought I would. It was a wonderful day!

Meg~
Espero su 21a era una especial. Te quiero, Momma

Multiple Personalities

What do you do when your in college and it's freezing rain outside?

You tap into your multiple personalities and ask them to come out to play.

Here is Meg with all her personalities. I cracked up when I saw these on her facebook and asked her permission to share with all of you. My mother asked her if she stays awake at night dreaming of these things!

Gangsta Girl

Little Girl
Little freaky girl.

I like to iron little clothes.

I like to play with my little toys.

I like my easy bake oven....I can see the light bulb cooking my cake.

The Nun and her little nun.

I didn't do Nunthing!!

The terrible horrible Redneck momma

The Housewife
Baby come back.....I love my broom.

What's your Poo telling you?

Awkward Tea Party

Prehistoric Love

I love these photos!!! I don't know what was funnier...the look on Meg's face in the Poo photo or the fact that she has the book in her house!! When Meg & Tori were growing up they would put on hilarious shows for John & I and do silly stuff like this. I'm going to have to pull out those tapes and watch some of those home movies now.
Thanks for the laughs Meg!!
