Meg is on the plane

Destination - Spain!

Time - 1 year.

Purpose - Teaching English to ages 6-12

(Zach, Meg & Hillary)

Meg got on the plane at 5:00 am this morning. I can't help but cry as I sit here and type this blog post out. I am going to miss her greatly. I am so proud beyond words of the woman that she has become. It's going to be tough not being able to pick up the phone & call whenever I want to or send/receive text messages 10+ times a day!! She is going to be 4,000 miles away from me for a year! Before we left for the airport she left notes on the counter top one for each of us...her sister, Tori, me & her daddy. Needless to say, I cried my eyes out when I picked it up....and the first line I read was...."First of all, stop crying!" haha She knows me to well.

The hardest thing about being a mother is the letting go. I know she is 22 years old, an adult, but she will always be my little girl.

I know what you´re going through. I am feeling for you and hope you are ok. Distraction helps. And chocolate. :) (just kidding)

I felt the same thing when my oldest went to Spain and she was only gone a sememster! Do they have computer access there? You could always Skype. That's what we did because it is free and it really helped with the distance.

Aw, honey, I'm crying along with you, and I know my sister Michelle is, too.

Hope the year is filled with great adventures for her, a great visit for you (when are you going over?) and goes by quickly so you don't have to miss her for too long.

I'm getting teary just reading about it! lol

What a great experience for her!!

It certainly is hard to watch our adult children make their own lives and choices, especially when it takes them further from us than we'd like, though.

I'm glad to see you back in bloggyland! I've missed you.

Oh, my goodness, Betty, my heart just aches for you. It was hard enough for me to let Brittany attend college 5 1/2 hours from home...I can't begin to imagine what it's like for you. I'm certain that she will do just great! Think of the wonderful reunion you'll have when you're together, again!

Life is so bitter sweet isn't it. I'm so happy for her new adventure, but know momma has a hard time not having her on the same continent.
