Wordful Wednesday

MRS. ARKANSAS PAGEANT
1996

T
he competition included an interview with 3 judges one on one, question on stage, bathing suit competition and evening gown competition.

When they introduced me John walked me out on stage and gave me a big kiss. I put both my hands on his cheeks and we said, I love you.

I'll never forget when they asked me my question on stage....I don't remember the question verbatim...but it was about teen pregnancy. I was talking about how I didn't want my girls to be a statistic like me and I knocked the microphone..said, oops and finished my answer. I was a bit nervous.

The bathing suit competition was fun except the spray glue I had to use to keep the bathing suit from riding up my bootie!

I loved my evening gown! The neck piece had chiffon that draped down to the floor....it was beautiful!

I received 2 runner-up!

Although it was fun, I'll never do it again!

Those pictures are stunning! That would be a fun experience, but probably not a career goal.

I hope you take this as a total compliment when I say "you haven't changed a bit?" You look great, then and now!!

My BFF in jr high school's mom won the Mrs. USA when we were in the 8th grade in middle school - it was so cool just by association!!

Happy 4th to you, John and "the girls" - be safe!!
