Block #1

I made block #1 for John Bons quilt.

I think it came out pretty darn cute!

Except for the square in the upper left corner....as I was pressing the seams down my iron decided to spit out some crap that was the color of rust and this black rocky substance that left marks on the material. I'm sure it's just mineral buildup and all I need to do is clean it with some vinegar. But it was irritating none the less. It's also slightly crooked but hey it's my first one...I'll be more aware when sewing the next ones.

I'm really excited about this quilt...mostly because I don't have a deadline! Oh and because I truly enjoy making things with my hands.

Those colors are just perfect...and the little imperfections are what make it handmade; the only person they will bother is you, you know.

No deadline is a good thing.

You are so gifted, Betty!

Ooohh! I love it! I love how the yellow makes the yellows and golds from the other material pop, and the pattern is just perfect! Have fun! :)
