1/10/10

We are 10 days into the new year! So far it has been amazing!!

John started a new schedule this year. We are still trying to get adjusted to it, it's been really weird-but in a good way. He now works a day shift on Fridays-he has Friday nights OFF! This is the first time in over 22 years he doesn't have a night shift on a Friday. We celebrated his first Friday night going out with a couple friend of ours. We ate great Mexican, had great Margaritas & laughed till our stomachs hurt.

We also get to workout together Sunday-Tuesday at the gym. I have really missed working out with him. This summer he whipped my bootie in shape----I need that again because I was a naughty girl over the holidays, ate everything in sight and gained 5 1/2 pounds.

On Wednesday & Thursday nights I do an hour on the elliptical with my 2 girlfriends, Shawna & Sunny. John says we burn just as many calories running our mouths as we do on the machine...haha! I'm also going on Saturday mornings with Shawna and we are doing a 65 minute elliptical workout. At this rate those pounds should be off by the end of the month.
----------------------------------------------------------------

My girlfriends and I started a Bunko group. I'll be blogging about those crazy nights on here I'm sure. We are doing a dress & dinner theme each month. It's gonna be FUN! There will be a group picture every month. The first one is this Saturday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a lady ask me on Facebook if I make/sell quilts for other people. (she is actually my sisters childhood bff) She loved the ones I made the girls. I was very flattered. I told her I thought about it but really not sure just yet. I am still making blocks for Johns....which by the way I think are coming out cute. I'll have to take some pictures and post what I've done so far.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I was lying in bed last night I was thinking about what I want to accomplish this year. So I decided to write it down in my journal.

My Goals for 2010:

* more quality time with John
* visit my girls more often at their home
* more family dinner dates
* more dinner & movie days with my mom & sisters
* more couple dates with great friends!
* Stay committed to my workouts.
* to not worry so much about the house being "perfectly clean"
*Sew a quilt for Reeses (yes, I said Reeses!)
* make the memory quilt out of my Dads old clothes
* sew a few summer tops & skirts
* go on more walks
*hike Pinnacle mtn. at least once a month
* visit more yard sales
*plant my vegetable garden (in the ground this year)
*crochet more
*make other Jams as well as my usual Strawberry
*read more books

I'm sure many more will come to mind.
I only have 8 months until Meg moves to Spain so those dinner dates and just time spent together will be at the top of my goals!!!

Have you wrote any goals for 2010?

Bunko sounds fun! Never done it before, but I've heard good things.

I love your goals for 2010. I, too, fell out of the habit of going to the gym once Girls on the Run was over and the holiday madness began; Isabel and I are on our way to the gym right now to go running.

You should be flattered; your quilts are amazing! I don't think you could ever make enough money to make up for all the time and love that goes into them, though, unless you sold them for a thousand bucks!

Have a great week! Can't wait to see some pictures from your girls' nights!

loving that you have friday nights with John. 22 years is a LONG TIME. I was happy to hear that you went out with him and laughed and drank. Good times.

I think your 2010 list sounds doable, and realistic. We'll be checking in on you to make sure though ;)

Nice to be back to being the blogger and bloggee.

I love your blog's new look!

Great goals! And I love the quote at the end. :)

A quilt for Reeses sounds like a great idea! I'm excited to see the fabric you use. What a fun, totally unstressful quilt to make. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Great list. I would evaluate it once a month and see how it's coming along!

I have bought quilts that people make. I find quilts fascinating and so intricate. I just wish I knew how to make one!

I have a feeling you are going to accomplish this list.
Bunko is such fun. It's been a while since I've been in a bunko group.

We did couples bunko every February and dressed up as famous couples. It was hilarious.

Great list you have going...I wish you the very best as you progress and are able to check each one off. I can't imagine having my daughter move to Spain. I'm having a hard enough time with her going away to college nearby!

Bunko sounds like a lot of fun. I've never played but everyone who does seems to have a great time.

Glad you are able to enjoy your Friday nights with your husband and exercise together again.

Enjoy losing those 5 pounds. I am jealous!! Sooooo ready for my post-baby diet!

Love those goals you have set! I haven't really thought too much about it but I'm about 1/2 way to my goal weight so that is definitely on the list. Also, I've been cleaning out my house so I can reach my goal of uncluttering things and knowing where something is when I need it so I'll continue on that road and should actually be finished with everything in a few more months (hopefully).

Have fun with your Bunko group - I've heard of it and heard how much fun it is. Looking forward to the pictures!

Hugs,

Rene

I have never tried the elyptical machine at the gym. I really need to do something though. I hate going to the gym because it is filled with skinny people. Seriously! : (

What is bunko? That sounds So fun!

How exciting that you and John will get to spend Friday nights together! Your first night out sounds like a blast!

My hubby and I are talking again about working out together. I don't even want to know how much weight I've gained since my sister's wedding! LOL

No goals for 2010 yet but...i see a few of yours I might "borrow"!
