We were the 80's

Where are my Angels is hosting

Photobucket

The 80's....ah, let me reminisce....Madonna....who didn't love her...what girl didn't dress like her!?! Jon Bon Jovi....what a hottie and still is!!! I want my MTV....and back then it was all about the music!

The best movies came out like Terms of Endearment, Top Gun, Back to the Future and my all time favorites......Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Urban Cowboy & Dirty Dancing!!

This is a photo of a photo....haha....John was 17, I was 15...it was 1986! I know it's fugly!!! John's hair was big too! This was a free 16x20 that we had taken at a hotel in Jacksonville. It cracks me up every time I look at it.

Arcades....that was the place to be. I always played Pac-Man! Atari...do you remember PONG & Space Invaders! Oh the simplicity in our sweet Atari.

The evolution of switching from tapes to CD's.

High school.....on prom night of 87' we conceived our 1st daughter. Ah, yeah high school was great!

Big hair...long hair....banana clips....blue eyeshadow....leg warmers....parachute pants...Guess jeans....Members Only jackets....Jelly shoes(geez, these killed my feet but I wore them anyway cause they were cool)Chuck Taylor Converse (I still wear these) Reebok high tops in all crazy colors....I had a pair of Teal ones!

No cell phones....No computers...

Life was great in the 80's!!!!!!!!!!

Another photo of a photo....and it was actually 1990....but hey, we still have our 80's hair.

Yay! Love your 80s post! I never had jellies because I never could find them in a size 10 (I had big feet by junior high, alas) but my sisters both had them and the thing I remember most about them is they made my sisters' feet STINK! Hee!

I totally forgot Dirty Dancing in my movie list for my 80s post - man, I must've watched that a thousand times in the 80s... Old age is clearly making me forgetful!

Cheers!

After watching Dirty Dancing, I divorced my first husband! I knew out there I would find someone who loved me like Johnny love Baby!

I was a beast at Pac-Man!

Reading your post I felt like I was back in the 80's for a couple of minutes, that was great!

I think I saw that prom dress at dillards recently...funny how things we loved-- and things we swore we'd never we'd never wear again--are back in style.

I forgot about Dirty Dancing. I'm a little younger than you and I wasn't "supposed" to watch it, but...

Oh, I am so a child of the 80's!

I loved this walk down memory lane.

And now I really do feel old, 'cause half of my coworkers were BORN in the 80's and have no idea what you are talking about!

I love this post!! You are so brave to show off your crazy 80's hair!! I had the big girl-mullet and spent hours making it look just so. Loved my jellies too! I still had some 70's influences so I also had the crazy Candie's plastic slides. Too bad I didn't keep that stuff cuz it seems to be coming back.

Nice hair and dress!

Oh and jellies, I forgot about those. I always loved the spring when mom would let me pick out a new pair. What color to choose?

It must be something with bloggyland today. I can't stop laughing.

I love that you were brave enough to share your 80s hair with all of us. I'm a child of the 80s too and there is NO way I'm sharing with any of you. LOL

I loved Terms of Endearment, Breakfast Club and Dirty Dancing. Actually, I still do!

I miss the 80's in a big way...especially my big hair!! Too funny!! I really have a place in my heart for 80's disco music. My girls think I'm an old has-been, but who cares! Great times for certain!!

Awesome...I forgot to mention the leg-warmers!
That 80's hair-do did roll-over into the early 90's didn't it?
By the way...I love your blog layout! So fun!

My brother and I were born in the 80's too....May of '86 and February of '84. Dirty Dancing made a lot of musicians pretty famous after it came out.

I am guilty of having pairs and pairs of jelly shoes :-)

(Don't forget "Ferris Bueller's Day Off")

Your poof is spectacular!

I know that last pic is technically 1990 but it'd be hard to beat in an 80's bangs contest. Nice height, nice and even...no falling/flattening parts.

:)

Your girls are beautiful!

We should have had a contest with this one...biggest 80's hair! But it would have definitely been a close race! I really enjoyed coming over and sharing your 80's memories!
