IKE

The remnants of hurricane Ike bore down on Arkansas Saturday. It produced heavy rain and wind speeds up to 50 mph. Most of the state was under a tornado warning. Tori was home visiting and to attend her cousins baby shower. She took these photos.
John watching the storm roll in.

Tori captured this photo which appears to be a funnel cloud. It was spinning...very eerie. There was a bird that was trying to fly into the storm; it was so sad cause it kept getting knocked down several feet. It finally gave up and flew the other way. Cabot (the town we live in) did have a tornado touch down! No one was hurt. This picture is almost beautiful in a weird, I. like. storms. sort of way.

and I took this photo...the rain & winds had just begun. Ike came through pretty fast. We are happy he didn't dump as much rain on as as Gustav did.

So I finished Twilight and New Moon. I'm about to crack open Eclipse. I'm so addicted to this series that I haven't been crocheting and I've done little sewing.

I did manage to put the book down and make John this Therapy Wrap for his neck. I did it in Arkansas Razorback material....GO HOGS!!! (Reeses just had to be in the photo...he is saying, hey, look at me...)

I added the fragrance oil "butt naked" which smells soooo good. I used this scent in my homemade soaps this summer. The description for this scent is..... "
Tantalizing base notes medley of granny smith apples and honeydew melon, middle notes of strawberries and pears, with hints of spice."

Every time he pops it in the microwave to heat it up, makes the entire house smell so good! Mmmmm.
Time to get back to Edward & Bella.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear you're reading Twilight, too. Awesome series. Check out my playlist sometime; I have "Bella's Lullaby by Edward Cullen" on there, about third or fourth song down.

Ike came to Ohio today, bringing such strong winds that we had no power for hours, and one woman even died when a tree fell in on her living room. It was scary stuff, and my kids were really freaked out. We lost some trees and some siding, but that's about all. Hope you all stayed safe.

Hi Betty,
The photo of the funnel cloud reminds me of one I saw here in Hawaii that was over the ocean. It's been raining here, I too love rain and storms, not big and dangerous ones mind you lol, but I just love crafting and creating when it's raining hard outside. I have to learn how to do those neck warmers I always seem to need them lately. Thanks for your visit..
Blessings Lorie

I am reading the Twilight series too! I am on the 3rd book "Eclipse". I had a hard time getting thru book 2...it kind of drug for me. Now that I am almost done with book 3 I can appreciate more. It is important to the story.

Thats so cool you make soap...we have a store in town that sells homemade soap and teaches classes. I've been wanting to give it a try.

Wow, those are great pictures... I am amazed all the talk around the blogosphere about Twilight. I think Debbie is going to send them to me over here, I am so curious to read them after everyone has been talking about them!!!

Those are great pics. I have heard so much of the Twilight series, but haven't started it yet.

I like your therapy wrap you made for your hubby. What do you fill it with? Rice?

I just ran into your blog, and I HAD to comment about the Twilight Saga. I am honestly addicted to the series. I am so sad that I have them all read now. But they are all so amazing!
