These are a few of my favorite things

I'm feeling a bit melancholy tonight. School started for the girls today...Meg is in her 3rd year and this is Tori's 1st....her 1st day of college. Wow. I talked with them both and got the rundown of their day. They both had wonderful first days! I'm proud of them! I miss them. It got me thinking, deeply, so I decided to come to this blog and just write.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.......

Hugs & kisses from my soul mate, John
Talking with my girls, hearing them tell me they love and miss me.
Just hearing about their day...what they ate.
Working with my mom...having the close relationship that we do!
Missing my Dad...how he called me Boop
Fresh fruit and fresh veggies
Hot cup of coffee
Clean sheets
Sushi
Lazy days in the sun listening to the waves crash on the beach
New York City
Shooting Stars
Christmas...Jesus
Girls Night Out
Rainy Days at Home
Rainbows
Cereal at night
Flowers....especially Gladiolas and Tulips
Lemon Meringue Pie
Snuggling with John
The smell of Eucalyptus
Going on walks
My moms desserts
My dads cooking...he was an awesome cook!
Being HOME
Date night
Family Dinner
Autumn
Spring
Greetings from Reeses with small sloppy kisses

When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Congrats on being so saucy! Found you through SITS...I love your blog. Your love for your husband, your girls, your mom, your dogs, and especially the Lord shines right through my screen (I don't think it's the glare). I am so far from an empty nest (my babies are 10, 8, and 4), but I loved reading about yours. I'm sure I'll be back for more.

What a great list:) And I must tell you that my daughter and I just watched The Sound of Music last night. She's 8, and asked to watch it again. I always have to sing along to the songs, much to my kids' horror. My boys are in 9th and 10th grade and I find myself almost in a panic at times when I realize how close they are to college already. I swear they were fat cheeked babies just last week:)

This is just a lovely "favorite things" list. I've just found your site through the recipe contest. I'll be back.
